Attending a conference in a presential mode, after two years of online events, can be quite a thrill!
At the end of November 2021, Greg the pleasure to attend the 11th Indoor Positioning and Indoor Navigation (IPIN 2021) International Conference , in Lloret de Mar, Spain. In the conference, he presented two works:
- “ProxyFAUG: Proximity-based Fingerprint Augmentation”: A heuristic method of augmenting fingerprinting datasets, inspired by the crossover and mutation operators of genetic algorithms.
- “Towards Reproducible Indoor Positioning Research”: A position paper, describing the Research Reproducibility Movement and discussing simple steps that the Indoor Positioning research community could undertake to assist Research Reproducibility.
Moreover, Greg organized and chaired the Special Session on "Data Compression, Data Augmentation and Generative Modeling in Indoor Positioning", that fostered fruitful discussions on these interesting topics.
