Statistical Learning Workshop – 18 September 2020
In this workshop we bring together the research communities of statistics and machine learning to foster a discussion between the two fields and develop research synergies. The workshop takes place on-line the whole day of 18/September. Depending on the COVID-19 status at the time a restricted physical presence version might also take place.

Guillaume Obozinski talk on learning dependency graphs with latent variables
Wednesday, January 22nd 2020, we have the pleasure to welcome Guillaume Obozinski, the Deputy Chief Data Scientist at the Swiss Data Science Center, to give us a talk on "Convex unmixing and learning the effect of latent variables in Gaussian Graphical models with unobserved variables". The talk will take place in the HEG building B of the Battelle Campus in Carouge, room 4.11 (fourth floor) at 11am-12am.

Talk by prof. Byeng Dong YOUN
In developing our collaborations with experts and scholars around the globe, we were happy to welcome Dr. Byeng Dong YOUN, Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Seoul National University (SNU), the founder and CEO of OnePredict Inc. (onepredict.com), and the President of the Korean Society of Prognostics and Health Management (PHM). Prof. Youn presented his talk on Industry AI based Machine Intelligences for Industrial Digitalization and we discussed the challenges related to applying machine learning techniques in industrial monitoring.
