Bio
Hugues Vinzant is a PhD student in Computer Science at the University of Geneva, with a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from EPFL, where he specialized in artificial intelligence and data science applications in biomechanics. Previously, he co-founded a startup focused on developing AI algorithms for posture and gait analysis aimed at improving rehabilitation and prevention strategies. His current research is part of the Swiss National Science Foundation-funded Metathesis project, conducted in collaboration between the Data Mining and Machine Learning (DMML) group at the University of Applied Sciences in Geneva and the Kinesiology Lab at the University of Geneva. Hugues's work centers on integrating AI and biomechanics to model pathological gait, with the goal of supporting treatment selection for children with cerebral palsy. His research leverages generative and imitation learning approaches to replicate human locomotion from motion capture data, ensuring adherence to the physical constraints of human biomechanics.
